Moving from Johannesburg to Pretoria may look like a straightforward relocation because the two cities are relatively close to each other. But the cost of the move can still vary depending on what you are moving, where you are moving from and to, and the type of moving service you choose.
What affects the cost?
The size of your move is one of the biggest factors. Moving a few pieces of furniture will require very different resources from moving a full household.
The exact locations also matter. Your collection and delivery addresses, access to the properties, stairs, parking and loading conditions can all affect the work involved.
Your moving date can also influence availability, particularly during busy periods.
Another important question is whether your quote is for a dedicated truck or a shared load.
With a dedicated truck, your belongings travel specifically for your move. With a shared load, your items may be transported alongside another customer’s belongings. A shared load can be a more affordable option, but you should confirm the expected collection and delivery arrangements before booking.
How can you get an accurate quote?
Rather than relying on a general price estimate, give the mover accurate information about your household and the locations involved.
MoveXpress allows you to submit your moving requirements and receive competitive quotes from registered moving partners.
All movers registered with MoveXpress are vetted and have insurance for goods protection, so you can consider the protection and service offered alongside the price.
When comparing quotes, check exactly what is included. Confirm whether loading, transportation and unloading are covered, and ask about any additional services or possible extra charges.
Is the cheapest quote the best option?
Not necessarily.
A lower quote may be based on a shared load, fewer services or different collection and delivery arrangements. A slightly higher quote may offer something that is more suitable for your particular move.
The important thing is to compare what you are actually getting for the price.
If you are moving from Johannesburg to Pretoria, getting multiple quotes can give you a much clearer idea of what your move is likely to cost.
Submit your moving requirements through MoveXpress, compare quotes from vetted movers and choose the option that works best for your move.
